634th Prakash Divas of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji was celebrated today with great zeal and religious gaiety in a function organised by All Jammu and Kashmir Shri Guru Ravidass Sabha at Gurdwara Krishna Nagar.Devotees in large number from various parts of the region took part in the function. Members of the Sabha highlighted the life and teachings of Guru and appealed the masses to follow the path shown by him. Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad was the chief guest in the function while Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand was the guest of honour. Besides these eminent personalities, MLA Chaman Lal Gupta and MLC BR Kundal were also present on the auspicious occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Azad highlighted various health related schemes started by central government in the state.  He furtherdisclosed that government is giving an amount of 5 to 15 lakh to the people falling Below Poverty Line and who are suffering from serious diseases.  Kathua: The birthday of Guru Ravidas was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across Jammu region today. On this occasion, a function was organised in Guru Ravidas Temple at Kathua. CAPD Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon was the chief guest on the occasion. MLA Kathua Charanjeet Singh, Deputy Commissioner Zahida Khan, NC District president Dhian Chand, South block president Ravinder Singh Slathia, S Manohar Singh, Naresh Sharma and other prominent citizens were present there.As part of the celebration of the day a keertan was also organised there, in which hundreds of devotees participated.Speaking on the occasion, CAPD Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon congratulated the people on the eve and urged them to inculcate principles of Guru Ravidas and be generous.Later, a deputation of Guru Ravidas Sabha met him and demanded action against those responsible for FCI scam. The minister assured them that no guilty would be spared at any cost.
